Coverage
How many of the most common words in the source language this dictionary can actually resolve, counting words reached through the inflection index.
| Frequency band | Found | As headword | Via inflection | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| top 1,000 | 990 | 509 | 481 | 99% |
| top 5,000 | 4,730 | 1,892 | 2,838 | 94.6% |
| top 10,000 | 9,133 | 3,346 | 5,787 | 91.33% |
| top 50,000 | 41,164 | 11,629 | 29,535 | 82.33% |
Measured against OpenSubtitles 2018 Polish top 50k (hermitdave/FrequencyWords).
What is in an entry
| Entries with a real translation | 104,545 (84.21%) |
| Entries with only a definition, no translation | 19,599 |
| Entries with a usage example | 15,782 (12.71%) |
| Entries with inflected forms | 89,480 (72.08%) |
| Entries with pronunciation | 93,409 |
| Senses | 251,273 |
| Mean definition length | 46.9 characters |
| Mean translations per entry | 2.37 |
An entry counted as “definition only” is one where the source wordnet knows the concept but has no word for it in the target language. These are shipped because a definition still helps a reader, and counted separately because calling them translations would be dishonest.
